Meet the Team

Dr. John Reid
MbChB FRCS MRCGP
Dr John Reid has been a GP in the Bristol area for 30 years and continues to be passionate about general practice. His clinical interests include functional medicine, surgery and general medical practice, and he holds postgraduate qualifications in both surgery and general medicine.
He regards the NHS as an excellent disease-based model of care. Once medical and surgical treatments are stable or complete, patients seeking to further optimise their health may choose to undergo a more detailed functional medicine and healthy-ageing review.
This may include consideration of genetic and microbiome analyses, alongside a broader assessment of mental and general health. Where appropriate, this can help inform a personalised approach to healthy ageing, ranging from lifestyle optimisation to more advanced interventions focused on cellular health, peptide therapies, senescence-targeting medicines and the selective use of nutritional supplements.

I found the health check really valuable. Cath’s advice was clear, practical and easy to understand. She encouraged me to become more aware of my day-to-day health, including using a glucose monitor and sleep tracker to better understand how my lifestyle choices affect me. Cath then used these insights to suggest practical changes that I could easily incorporate into everyday life, helping me make more informed choices and work towards my health goals.
